This is ssaemblog on YouTube. I'm the hard of hearing girl with the deep hard of hearing accent. I did have my makeup blog on BlogSpot but I figured Tumblr would be a better place to have it.

I will be posting my makeup tutorials, FOTDs, little reviews, haul photos, etc.

I hope you'll follow me on Tumblr and subscribe to my channel on YouTube.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush - Tipsy|

Hey~

Oh, I should gotten this up sooner but I just got a new kitten yesterday so I’ve been working on getting him and my current cat getting along.

So I’m not a very big blush person. I think they’re pretty and there are a few I’d love to try, but I just don’t buy a whole bunch because they’re so hard to use up. I normally use stippling brushes to apply blush so that makes it two times harder to use up product. I would only use two to three blushes reguarly (well, own that much, really) while all these other makeup collections on YouTube have over fifty blushes.

I received a JCSephora gift card for Valentine’s Day and had a hard time trying to decide what to use it on. I have enough eyeshadows to last me quite a few years. I’m having trouble just getting through one lip gloss (which is almost empty but it’s still torture) so I don’t need to add on to that trouble. I already purchased a new lipstick so that also wasn’t needed.

SO LET’S GET A BLUSH!

I’ll be honest. I’ve always wanted to try a Tarte blush because a bunch of people on YouTube rave about these particular blushes. But… I just didn’t want to spend 25$ on a blush. Wow. My most expensive blush before this one was a MAC mineralized blush (Dainty). But hey, I’ve got a 25$ gift card. Why not?

Tipsy is a “warm coral shade” and that was the first shade that caught my eye even though I already have blushes similar to it. It is a pretty colour and it suits me nicely. It brightens up my face and makes me look less sickly. It’s definitely not very shimmery like, say, theBalm Hot Mama blush which is one of my new favourites. It can be fairly pigmented so I normally just use a stippling brush, but sometimes I’ll use something a little more dense if I’m not wearing very much eyeshadow or if I’m feeling bold that day.

Wear time is pretty decent. I’m sort of shitty when it comes to being able to tell when coloured blush is on my cheeks since my cheeks are already naturally pink. These blushes are supposed to last up to twelve hours but by the time twelve hours has arrived, I’m already at home and lack of natural lighting just makes all of my makeup look off in mirrors, whether it be in a makeup palette in my room or in the bathroom, so it’s hard for me to tell if it’s still on or not if I’m not packing it on like crazy.

Overall, I think these are nice blushes. I wouldn’t go out and spend 25$ on another one of these blushes just because. I’d rather wait until I got a gift card or until it was my birthday/Christmas/just some sort of special occasion in general. A part of me does wish I would have gotten something like Blushing Bride because it’s different from all the blushes I currently own and I really want a purple-y blush, but oh well. Maybe next time!

First FOTD post on this new Tumblr!
So I didn’t get to film a tutorial I’ve been wanting to film again so I settled with something different. I did get passport photos taken this time with this makeup on. I was told not to wear so much eye makeup by someone in this house but I got these photos taken at Wal-Mart and it’s true, they don’t give a shit there.
On my face I’m wearing Urban Decay Complextion Primer Potion - Pore Perfecting on my nose where my pores usually are, theBalm TimeBalm Honey Face and Body Primer on the rest of my face and a little bit on my neck (just blended it all down, really), Benefit Erase Paste in Fair under my eyes, around my nose, and around my mouth. I set the concealer under my eyes with MUFE’s HD Powder (I’m running out of my sample) and the rest of my face with Palladio’s Rice Powder in Translucent. I’m wearing Benefit’s High Beam on my temple(s) and cheekbones as well as theBalm’s Hot Mama blush on just my cheekbones.
On my eyes, I’m wearing Too Faced Shadow Insurance (to keep my eyeshadow from creasing and fading), Too Faced Heaven eyeshadow as a brow bone highlight, Kat Von D’s Pray For Me eyeshadow (Saint palette) on the lid and lower lash line, Kat Von D’s Sunny eyeshadow (Saint palette) in the crease, and I mixed Kat Von D’s Bookworm and Caravaggio and put that in the outer corner and lower lash line, as well as blended it just a bit into the crease to darken everything up. Can you tell the star of the show is the Kat Von D Saint eyeshadow palette yet? For inner corner highlight, I used the matte white from the Wet n’ Wild Vanity eyeshadow palette as well as the gold colour right beside of it on top. On my top lashes, I have Prestige My Biggest Lashes mascara in Very Black and my bottom lashes have Rimmel Glam Eyes mascara in Extreme Black.
The lip colour I’m wearing is just the Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Wallflower. I received a sample of it when I ordered the tinted moisturizer a while ago. It’s a MLBB shade.
And that’s it! I just wanted to play with the Kat Von D palette since it’s a fairly recent purchased that I haven’t used very much.
Hope you like!
